Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in processing payments, and maintaining compliance with company policies. This is a long-term contract position within the transportation equipment manufacturing industry. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices with accurate account coding and documentation. • Utilize accounting software systems to record transactions and maintain financial records. • Manage accounts payable tasks, including vendor payments and reconciliation. • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to financial transactions. • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate data. • Perform audits to ensure accuracy in payment processing and adherence to guidelines. • Assist with accrual accounting and prepare necessary reports for financial planning. • Support enterprise resource planning (ERP) system operations related to accounts payable. • Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel and Access to analyze and report financial data. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounts payable processes.
