Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. In this entry-level role, you will play a vital part in managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the overall efficiency of the accounts payable process. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments. • Apply appropriate coding to invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures. • Conduct regular check runs and monitor payment schedules. • Maintain detailed and organized records of all accounts payable transactions. • Resolve discrepancies and communicate with vendors to address any payment issues. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation and authorization of invoices. • Support month-end closing activities by preparing accounts payable reports. • Assist in the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company standards. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable or a related financial role. • Strong knowledge of invoice processing and coding procedures. • Proficiency in managing check runs and payment schedules. • Familiarity with financial systems and software used for accounts payable. • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. • Strong communication abilities to interact effectively with vendors and team members. • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
