Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Commack, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting the financial operations of the organization. This position requires strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
• Process and code vendor invoices with precision, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and address discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage expense reports, employee reimbursements, and corporate credit card transactions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoicing and payment issues effectively.
• Prepare accounts payable aging reports and other financial documents for management review.
• Maintain electronic records of all accounts payable documentation to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
• Provide support during audits by coordinating with auditors and supplying necessary documentation.
• Review and reconcile vendor statements to ensure payments are accurate and up-to-date.
• Establish and sustain positive relationships with vendors, including assisting with new vendor setups.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
Requirements • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Oracle, as well as Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for clear and precise interactions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with sales and use tax regulations is a plus.
