Accounts Payable Clerk
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Hockley, Texas. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a background in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes. You will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and organization of financial records while providing essential support to the accounting department. Responsibilities: • Process vendor invoices by matching them to purchase orders and receiving documents, ensuring accuracy. • Enter invoice data into the accounting system with a high level of precision. • Organize and maintain vendor invoices, statements, and other accounts payable documentation. • Address vendor inquiries regarding payment statuses under supervision. • Assist in preparing payment runs, including checks and electronic transfers, for review and approval. • Reconcile vendor statements against company records to resolve discrepancies. • Process incoming payments, such as checks and electronic transfers, and apply them to customer accounts. • Prepare and distribute customer invoices and statements in a timely manner. • Provide general administrative support, including data entry, scanning, and filing financial documents. • Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes as directed by the accounting team. Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred. • At least 1-2 years of experience in an administrative role with exposure to accounting functions. • Proven experience in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, data sorting, and formatting. • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining financial records. • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced work environment. • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
