Description We are looking for a diligent Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in handling financial transactions and maintaining vendor relationships with accuracy and efficiency. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in accounts payable within the dynamic construction industry. Responsibilities: • Process and record vendor invoices while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Review and reconcile purchase orders with corresponding invoices to maintain proper documentation. • Manage relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies promptly. • Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts payable transactions. • Maintain organized financial records to support audits and internal reviews. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. • Monitor and report on accounts payable metrics to assist in financial planning. • Assist in month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable. • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable function. • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards in all financial activities. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable, preferably within the construction or contractor industry. • Proficiency in processing invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments. • Strong ability to manage vendor relationships and address inquiries effectively. • Experience in preparing and posting journal entries. • Familiarity with accounting software and tools for managing financial records. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Solid understanding of financial principles and compliance requirements. • Strong communication skills to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.
