Accounts Payable Clerk
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Richton Park, Illinois. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable, and purchase order processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. Responsibilities: • Process and print vendor purchase orders daily, ensuring they are matched with signed purchase requisitions. • Distribute purchase orders to relevant parties via mail or email and organize copies for Accounts Payable records. • Enter matched invoices into the accounting system and ensure timely weekly payment processing. • Perform month-end close activities, including filing invoices and mailing checks. • Oversee time and attendance systems, reviewing employee time cards for accuracy and resolving discrepancies. • Process bi-weekly payroll and address employee payroll concerns promptly. • Prepare and post journal entries as part of month-end procedures. • Conduct account reconciliations to ensure financial data accuracy. • Carry out general administrative tasks, such as filing and documentation. • Assist with additional accounting and payroll tasks as needed. The salary range for this position is $22/hr. to $24/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements • High school diploma is required; additional qualifications in accounting are a plus. • At least 1-2 years of experience in accounting and payroll processes. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively. • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. • Keen attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines. • Familiarity with accounts payable, payroll, purchase orders, and month-end close procedures.
