Description Our client, a reputable non-profit organization, is in need for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on a contract basis! In this role, you will play a key part in managing vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with company procedures. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and familiarity with accounts payable processes. Responsibilities: • Receive, review, and distribute vendor invoices in a timely manner. • Verify approvals and accurately code invoices with cost elements and charge numbers in accordance with company policies. • Process invoices through the accounting system and generate accounts payable payments, including checks, direct deposits, and wire transfers. • Handle P-Card charges and ensure proper entry and processing. • Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions for auditing and reporting purposes. • Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payment. • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies in all accounts payable activities. • Assist in periodic reporting and reconciliation related to accounts payable. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to efficiency enhancements within the accounts payable function. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices. • Proficiency in accounting software and systems. • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Solid communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams. • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling financial information.
