Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Wilmington, North Carolina. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth financial operations of a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will excel in managing invoice processing, vendor communications, and payment workflows while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Responsibilities: • Review invoices to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies. • Process subcontractor pay applications and vendor invoices using automated systems. • Manage payment processing utilizing Sage System. • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly. • Address inquiries from vendors and subcontractors regarding accounts payable matters. • Collaborate with project management staff to resolve documentation issues. • Assist with quarterly and year-end financial closing processes. • Ensure team members are properly trained and adhere to organizational policies. • Coordinate departmental activities with other teams to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred. • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with construction industry experience being a plus. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Sage • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently. • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. • Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
