Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Prepare daily cash receipts for processing – ACH, Wire and Checks                                                                                   Process accounts receivable transactions – Credit Memos, Debit Memos, Chargebacks, Research Deductions according to the Expenditure Authorization PolicyWork with the Customer Service department to resolve any discrepanciesHandle sensitive information in a confidential mannerReview and release/hold orders entered that are on credit checkPerform account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner (Bank Reconciliation, Intercompany activity, etc.)Manage collection efforts and associated functions - customer follow-ups, providing invoice copies, statements, etc.Month End Journal Entries as requiredProvide support for internal and external auditsContinuous evaluation of current policies and recommendations for process improvementsPerform ad hoc tasks – process documentation, customer account reviews to update records, etc.Perform other accounting, financial or administrative tasks, including special projects, that may be required.

Qualifications

At minimum, an associate degree in Accounting or related field 3-4 years of experience with collections, invoicing, and/or accounts receivableProficient in Microsoft Office applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OutlookStrong Excel skills required (Pivot tables, V-Lookup, Sum if statements)Ability to analyze large sets of dataKnowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principlesStrong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong sense of urgency and professional follow-up protocolHigh level of organization and work-flow implementationHigh degree of familiarity with accounts receivable functionsKnowledge of JDEdwards system a plus
