Accounts Payable Clerk
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Newark, New Jersey. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, reconciling statements, and maintaining vendor accounts. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various departments and external vendors. Responsibilities: • Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring they are accurately allocated to designated cost centers. • Reconcile invoices with purchase orders and address discrepancies in collaboration with vendors and headquarters. • Review and reconcile monthly vendor statements, resolving outstanding issues promptly. • Coordinate the approval process for invoices by liaising with relevant departments and conducting regular follow-ups. • Collect and validate receipts for credit card transactions, reconciling statements and resolving discrepancies with procurement. • Manage employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of any related issues. • Oversee utility accounts via online portals, ensuring payments are completed on time and accurately. • Set up new vendor accounts and update existing vendor information to maintain accurate records. • Support the Finance Team during month-end and year-end closings by ensuring accounts payable data is complete and accurate. • Communicate effectively with vendors, department heads, and the headquarters bookkeeping team to verify payment details and resolve invoice-related issues. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable or a related field. • Proficiency in SAP and other accounting software. • Strong ability to process, code, and reconcile invoices with accuracy. • Experience handling credit card transactions and expense reports. • Knowledge of utility account management and online payment portals. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
