Our client is a purpose-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the community. With a mission to improve lives and create long-lasting change, they rely on a meticulous and reliable finance team to support their ongoing efforts. They are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to contribute to their financial operations and help ensure resources are effectively managed to continue driving their mission forward.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Process invoices and payments for vendors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
+ Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
+ Review and verify expense reports, ensuring compliance with organization policies.
+ Maintain vendor files and manage correspondence related to payment inquiries.
+ Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments via ACH or other systems when required.
+ Assist with month-end close processes, including relevant journal entries for accounts payable.
+ Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
+ Support audits by providing necessary documentation and detailed reporting of accounts payable records.
+ Continuously identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable function.
Requirements
+ At least 1–2 years of accounts payable or related financial experience, with nonprofit industry experience considered a strong plus
+ Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
+ Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or QuickBooks) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
+ Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles and grants management is a bonus.
+ Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
+ A passion for working in the nonprofit sector and contributing to a meaningful mission.
