Accounts Payable Clerk
Description we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our finance team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial health and accuracy of our operations by ensuring that invoices are processed and paid in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: + Process and verify purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. + Review and reconcile vendor statements to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payment. + Enter invoices, expense reports, and payment requests into the accounting system. + Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH transfers, and wire payments. + Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including vendor files and payment tracking systems. + Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to address payment and billing inquiries in a professional and timely manner. + Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting practices, including tax regulations and internal controls. + Match purchase orders with invoices and receiving documentation, flagging any discrepancies for resolution. + Assist with month-end closing processes, including reconciling accounts payable ledger accounts. + Support audits by providing documentation and answering related inquiries as required. Requirements Qualifications and Skills: + High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred). + Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar financial role. + Proficiency in using accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, and knowledge of Excel. + Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of financial data with accuracy. + Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. + Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and colleagues. + Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices.
