Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a short-term contract basis in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role is ideal for someone who excels at managing financial transactions and enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: • Handle the administrative and clerical tasks required by the Accounts Payable and Finance department. • Accurately execute daily processes and controls in compliance with company policies. • Provide excellent customer service to internal business units and external partners. • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and organizing necessary documentation. • Open, sort, and distribute daily mail within the department. • Organize, log, and file invoices, checks, and other financial documents. • Verify, record, and process checks, including prioritizing special handling requests. • Support special projects assigned by management as needed. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial software. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and financial teams. • Familiarity with coding invoices, processing payments, and managing check runs.
