Description We are looking for a meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Signal Hill, California. In this role, you will manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely processing of payments while utilizing your advanced Excel skills. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys collaborating with vendors and internal teams. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. • Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, wire transfers, and other payment methods. • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and address discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and macros, to create and analyze financial reports. • Audit and monitor employee expense reports to ensure adherence to corporate guidelines. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounts payable workflows. • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to address inquiries and resolve payment issues. • Support month-end closing activities by maintaining and reconciling the accounts payable sub-ledger. • Assist with system integration and technical tasks related to accounts payable processes. Requirements • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. • Minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and macros. • Familiarity with accounting systems such as Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data processing. • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a collaborative mindset. • Certifications in advanced Excel or accounts payable are a plus.
