Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in financial operations. The role focuses on ensuring accurate processing of transactions and maintaining compliance with company policies. Responsibilities: • Process accounts payable transactions efficiently and accurately, ensuring all invoices and payments are handled correctly. • Perform data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date and error-free financial records. • Reconcile expenses and accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly. • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to address inquiries and resolve payment-related issues. • Verify invoice details for accuracy, including amounts, terms, and supporting documentation. • Assist in auditing financial records to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. • Maintain organized and accessible records of all accounts payable activities. • Provide exceptional customer service to vendors and stakeholders, addressing concerns professionally. • Support month-end and year-end financial processes as required. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to streamlining workflows. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role. • Proficiency in data entry with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. • Strong knowledge of expense reconciliation processes. • Excellent customer service and communication skills. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently. • Familiarity with financial auditing practices and compliance standards. • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. • Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
