Accounts Payable Clerk
Description We are looking for a dedicated AP Clerk to join our team in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will manage critical billing and accounts payable functions, ensuring smooth financial operations and compliance with industry standards. This is a contract to hire position that requires on-site work and offers a fantastic opportunity for growth within the legal industry. Responsibilities: • Prepare and submit accurate legal invoices in accordance with client-specific guidelines and deadlines. • Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and attorney reimbursements. • Coordinate domestic and international wire transfers, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes. • Utilize electronic billing platforms to manage invoice submissions, monitor payment statuses, and resolve discrepancies. • Handle client payments through checks, electronic transfers, and wires, while maintaining detailed transaction records. • Act as a liaison with clients to address billing inquiries and coordinate payment arrangements effectively. • Ensure compliance with firm policies and industry regulations in all billing activities. • Generate and analyze financial reports, such as aged accounts receivable and billing histories, to support decision-making. • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to manage time entries and resolve billing-related issues. Requirements • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in legal billing, accounting, or finance, preferably within a law firm or a detail-oriented services environment. • Proficiency in managing electronic billing systems and platforms. • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and client payment management. • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively. • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Familiarity with wire transfer processes and proper documentation.
