Accounts Payable Clerk
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the financial operations of the organization, with a focus on accurate and timely vendor payments. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position, offering a great opportunity to grow within the dynamic healthcare industry. Responsibilities: • Process vendor invoices and employee check requests to ensure timely and accurate payments. • Coordinate weekly check runs, ensuring all checks are properly issued, mailed, or distributed. • Upload vendor invoices into Great Plains to record expenses at the patient level. • Verify accurate billing from contracting facilities, hospitals, doctors, and pharmacies in compliance with Medicare regulations and agreements. • Maintain vendor records, including updating files, entering invoices, processing checks, and voiding payments. • Accrue payments within the correct accounting period and assign appropriate general ledger codes. • Collaborate with Patient Care Administrators or other staff to confirm vendor payments align with contract pricing and hospice care guidelines. • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies with vendors. • Collect and organize W-9 forms from all vendors to ensure compliance. • Monitor recurring payables and ensure issue payments are processed on time. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably within a medical or healthcare setting. • Proficiency in accounting software such as Great Plains, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle. • Strong skills in invoice processing, coding, and account reconciliation. • Familiarity with medical claims, hospital billing, and Medicare regulations. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting. • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
