Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Houston, Texas. This role requires someone with a strong background in financial operations who can efficiently manage invoicing tasks and support the accounting team. The position offers a flexible schedule of 20 hours per week and the opportunity to work with industry-standard tools like QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel. Responsibilities: • Review incoming invoices and verify their accuracy before coding and entering them into QuickBooks Desktop. • Assign appropriate codes to invoices and ensure proper documentation for approval. • Process vendor invoices and reconcile accounts to ensure timely payments. • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and update them regularly. • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial data alignment. • Generate monthly reports related to accounts payable and assist in financial analysis. • Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies in invoices or payments. • Manage invoice approvals and ensure compliance with company policies. • Support the accounting team with additional administrative tasks as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or a related financial role. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop for invoice processing and account management. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Experience with coding invoices and managing vendor payment cycles. • Familiarity with bank reconciliations and monthly accounting reports. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments. • Strong communication skills to address invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
