Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. This is a long-term contract position within the waste and environmental management industry, offering an opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, accuracy in data entry, and the ability to handle expense reconciliation tasks efficiently. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Perform timely reconciliation of expenses and address discrepancies as needed. • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and update databases accordingly. • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve payment inquiries and issues. • Conduct audits of accounts payable data to ensure completeness and correctness. • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. • Assist in preparing reports and summaries related to accounts payable activities. • Support the finance team with ad hoc tasks and special projects as required. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related field. • Proficiency in data entry with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. • Experience with expense reconciliation processes and tools. • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for customer service. • Familiarity with accounting software and basic financial principles. • Ability to work onsite in Stamford, Connecticut. • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in financial operations.
