Accounts Payable Clerk
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Vallejo, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to our financial operations by ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable and reconciliation, coupled with an ability to handle high-volume invoice processing efficiently. Responsibilities: • Ensure adherence to the Purchase Order policy by accurately matching purchase orders with packing slips and vendor statements. • Process and pay bills promptly and with precision to maintain operational efficiency. • Reconcile supplier statements and credit card statements to ensure accurate records. • Enter and track all credit card transactions and warranty return credits. • Conduct weekly check runs, handling approximately 200 invoices per week with a focus on two-way purchase order matching. • Maintain and update the Accounts Payable Report to reflect accurate and complete information. • Properly account for prepaid expenses and recognize them in the correct accounting periods. • Collaborate with the Controller or Manager to support month-end close by ensuring invoices from the prior month are entered by the fifth business day. • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing vendors to support seamless operational processes. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable and related financial processes. • Proficiency in reconciling accounts and credit card statements. • Skilled in invoice coding, processing, and check runs. • Competence in data entry with high accuracy and attention to detail. • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel • Strong understanding of purchase orders and two-way matching processes. • Experience in handling high-volume invoice processing efficiently. • Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage vendor relationships effectively.
