Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client on a contract basis in Portland, Oregon. This position is integral to ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining vendor records, and supporting financial close activities. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounts payable practices and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices using both 2-way and 3-way matching methods to ensure accuracy. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting records and vendor invoices. • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to address purchase order and invoice issues. • Expedite payments to vendors to secure discounts and maintain timely disbursements. • Assist with month-end accruals and close activities to support accurate financial reporting. • Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies. • Collaborate with purchasing and receiving departments to streamline invoice processing. • Provide backup support to colleagues during peak workload periods. • Ensure high levels of accuracy and timeliness in all accounts payable transactions. • Support multiple entities within a shared services environment. Requirements • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting is preferred. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable procedures, including debits and credits. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with digital filing systems. • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP. • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with colleagues and vendors. • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines. • Willingness to work on-site two days a week.
