Job Title: Accounts Payable Associate
Job Description

Join our team as an Accounts Payable Associate, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. You will be responsible for reviewing, verifying, and processing invoices in compliance with our financial policies and procedures. Additionally, you will match purchase orders to invoices, set up invoices for payment, and enter and upload invoices into our system. Your role will involve tracking expenses, processing expense reports, and preparing electronic transfers and payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.

ResponsibilitiesReview, verify, and process invoices in compliance with financial policies and procedures.Match purchase orders to invoices and code as needed.Set invoices up for payment and enter/upload them into the system.Track expenses and process expense reports.Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments (checks, ACH, wire).Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.Reconcile accounts payable transactions.Prepare analysis of accounts.Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues with vendors and internal departments.Maintain accurate historical records and liaise with vendors.Provide supporting documentation for audits.Prepare/mail 1099s for all companies.Prepare and enter lien waivers.Compile and pay property and school taxes.Collect, enter, and monitor subcontractor agreements, insurances, and fair play act requirements for compliance.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.Essential SkillsExperience with accounts payable, purchase orders, and full cycle AP.Proficiency in ACH processing and implementation.Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage/Timberline.Skills in reconciliation, invoicing, and three-way matching.Experience in G/L, Job Cost, and Intercompany Accounting.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Additional Skills & QualificationsCollege degree or equivalent in education and work experience.Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.Good organizational and time management skills.Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.Work Environment

You will be part of a small, dedicated accounting team of two, working closely with our Finance department, subcontractors, project managers, and executives. This role requires collaboration and communication across different departments. The position is open to replace a permanent employee and presents an opportunity to bring fresh perspectives and skills to the team.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Halfmoon, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
