Gesban is a dedicated professional team who provides and develops effective financial processes, accounting and reporting with independent control, to the Santander UK Group & Banco Santander UK based entities.

In this interesting role, you’ll report into the Accounts Payable Supervisor and works with staff at every level across the Banco Santander Group. You’ll work closely with the Finance Operations team providing Finance Support within the Payments and Reconciliations team.

The difference you’ll make:

Processing and paying invoices to 3rd party suppliers, including the posting to SAP/Equation

Creating payment runs and ensuring timely clearance from the bank account

Dealing with all e-mail enquiries in a timely manner to meet the Service Level Agreement and responding to queries from key stakeholders such as the client, and internal/external audit

Performing weekly and monthly reconciliations and producing monthly/ad-hoc payment reporting and preparing VAT returns

Building and maintaining business relationships with customers to ensure a premium service

Ensuring up to date process documentation is in place for all key processes under your remit so that that there is a full audit trail and robust control infrastructure

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

Previous experience in Accounts Payable role within Banking

Proficiency with SAP or another accounts payable system

Good understanding of accounting processes

Ability to work to tight deadlines and to work well under pressure

It would also be nice for you to have:

Excellent problem solving and organisational skills

Positive, proactive, energetic and with a can-do attitude

What else you need to know:

This permanent role is based in Milton Keynes.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
