Accounts Payable Assistant
Job Description The position supports the accounting operations of a manufacturing company by focusing on high-volume accounts payable tasks and general administrative accounting support. This is a contract role through the end of the year, working closely with a small, collaborative accounting team. Responsibilities • Process 100–200 invoices weekly with accuracy and efficiency • Perform 3-way matching of purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for accounting documents • Match vendor terms and data within the ERP system • Assist with biweekly check runs (preparation, not execution) • Create and manage spreadsheets for reporting and reconciliation • Use Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs for data analysis • Provide administrative support to the accounting team (approx. 25% of time) • Run reports from ERP and assist in researching work orders and purchase orders • Support problem-solving and data validation tasks as needed Essential Skills • 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting support • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs • Familiarity with ERP systems (Global Shop preferred, but not required) • Strong organizational and time management skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in smaller companies and comfort with multitasking • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred but not required • Experience with Global Shop ERP is a plus Work Environment This is a fully onsite position located in Newberg, OR. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with start times between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM and end times between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18–$25/hr, depending on experience. This is a contract role and may include access to benefits depending on eligibility and employment classification.
