**Accounts Payable Specialist** – Contract Role
**Location:** Newsport News, VA Remote
**Pay Rate:-** $20/ hour
**Overview:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable **Accounts Payable Specialist** to support our team with high-volume invoice processing and vendor communications. This role requires someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, learns quickly, and is comfortable juggling multiple tasks throughout the day.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Accurately enter a high volume of PO and Non-PO invoices into Oracle AP module.
+ Perform GL coding and PO matching for invoice entries.
+ Maintain daily production goals for invoice processing.
+ Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies by contacting vendors.
+ Monitor and collect on negative balances.
+ Assist with Excel-based AP item tracking and reporting.
+ Support ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management.
+ Retain and apply new information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
**Must-Have Qualifications:**
+ **2–3 years** of experience in high-volume AP invoice entry (PO and Non-PO).
+ Strong **accounting background** with understanding of GL coding.
+ Proficiency in **Oracle Cloud AP module** (huge plus).
+ Intermediate **Excel skills** (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables).
+ Excellent **communication and analytical skills** .
+ Self-starter with a “go-getter” attitude—takes initiative and asks the right questions.
+ Comfortable working independently and on the phone with vendors.
+ Highly adaptable to change and able to switch tasks throughout the day.
**Pay Details:** $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
