Accounts Payable Analyst

The Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for focusing on process improvement, Willingness to assess current processes, propose improvements, and assist with training and implementation of changes. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to drive improvements within accounts payable operations.

Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Vendor Management: Manage inquiries from internal and external vendors, review vendor statements, and ensure the accuracy of the Vendor Master Data by identifying duplicates, confirming tax classifications, and deactivating inactive profiles.
2. Account Reconciliation: Oversee the periodic review and reconciliation of vendor accounts, promptly resolving discrepancies.
3. Financial Reporting: Analyze system reports and vendor data to provide insights that support business decision-making and assist with financial reporting, accruals, and budget support.
4. Audit Support: Provide documentation for audits and assist with compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to accounting procedures.
5. Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and AP automation to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
6. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital expenditure tracking and project spend to ensure financial alignment.
7. Discrepancy Resolution: Assist the AP team with daily transactions, resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely processing.
8. Root Cause Analysis: Perform Root Cause Analysis to identify and resolve repeat errors, improving accuracy and minimizing issues.
9. Vendor Relationship Management: Foster strong vendor relationships through consistent communication, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
10. Best Practices Guidance: Provide guidance and training to the AP team, promoting adherence to best practices and consistent workflows.
11. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of all financial transactions and provide accurate reporting as requested by leadership.
12. Ad-Hoc Assistance: Assist with special projects, audit inquiries, and other tasks as needed to support the AP department and broader finance function.

Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Intermediate to expert level with Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft Dynamics D365 and workflow experience preferred.
• Prior Accounts Payable experience in a fast-paced and high-volume environment preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of basic accounting principles, and experience developing documentation and researching and resolving issues.
• Ability to work independently, manage timelines and deliverables, and multi-task effectively.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
