This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, offering the potential for permanent employment for a detail-oriented and dependable accounting professional. Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position is responsible for processing and managing all accounts payable activities, ensuring accuracy of records, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. Key Responsibilities: + Invoice Processing: Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices to ensure prompt payment. + Account Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. + Payment Management: Prepare and process payments via checks, ACH, and wire transfers, adhering to payment deadlines. + Compliance: Ensure all invoices and payments comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws. + Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, discrepancies, or inquiries while fostering long-term, professional relationships. + Record-Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable records, including digital and physical filing systems. + Reporting: Assist in generating accounts payable reports and provide support during month-end and year-end close processes. + Support Tasks: Assist with audit preparation, budgeting, or other accounting-related tasks as needed. Requirements + Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered. + Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. + Technical Proficiency: + Familiarity with ERP/accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) is highly desirable. + Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including knowledge of formulas, data sorting, and pivot tables. + Skills: + High level of attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy. + Strong organizational and time management skills to handle high volumes of transactions. + Exceptional problem-solving abilities to independently address and resolve discrepancies. + Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. + Workstyle: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
