JSG is seeking an Associate Tax Accountant to join our client’s team in Irvine for a long term contract role.  The Tax Accountant: State & Local Tax (“SALT”) is primarily responsible for performing the day-to-day SALT functions in support of the Colorado (“CO”) income tax assignment for lease and retail sales. 
Work Schedule:  Monday- Friday  8:00am- 5:00pm  (work from home on Friday)
Hourly pay range: $36-$38 per hour 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Duties include review of daily CO assignment report, identification and retrieval of funding packages, review of CO assignment election forms in funding package, coordination with funding and strategy on missing/incomplete elections forms, and reconciliation to assignment report.
2. Preparation of assignment reporting to CO Department of Revenue, maintenance of tracker and documentation, and reconciliation to accounting/business reports.
3. Preparation of reconciliation of CO EV vehicle basis to tax depreciation reports.
4. Preparation of CO income tax credit claims for annual income tax returns and preparation and coordination for estimated tax payments
5. Assist with preparing desktop procedures and with credit ad-hoc projects when required.
 
Qualifications
·       3+ years general accounting or tax experience
·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
·       General accounting background with an understanding of US GAAP
·       General accounting/business background with basic technical knowledge in the area of tax (property, sales, gross receipts)
·       Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
·       Good personal computer skills, i.e., Excel, Word, Access, etc.
·       Ability to understand and use a variety of systems
·       Ability to manage multiple priorities
·       High energy and ability to work in a fast-paced business environment
·       Creative, innovative and adaptive to change
