Description We are looking for a skilled Accounting Supervisor to join our team in Irwindale, California. This role involves overseeing financial operations for two companies, including accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, asset accounting, and sales tax compliance. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to the accounting staff while ensuring precision and adherence to accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly and annual journal entries to ensure accurate financial closing processes.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and maintain clear financial records.
• Record and review bank transactions, reconciling accounts on a monthly basis.
• Supervise and support accounts payable staff, ensuring efficient handling of invoices, expenses, and payments.
• Manage fixed assets for both companies, including audits, acquisitions, disposals, database updates, and monthly depreciation calculations.
• Handle sales tax returns, coordinate payments, and communicate with tax authorities as needed.
• Prepare wire transfers and other payment processes for approval.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for headquarters.
• Assist with annual audits and special financial projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department's goals. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting, with a preference for candidates with 5+ years.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups, as well as intermediate skills in Word and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms.
• Ability to accurately calculate, post, and process financial data.
• Knowledge of fair credit practices and collection regulations.
• Advanced expertise in fixed asset accounting, manufacturing cost accounting, and sales tax processes.
