Accounting Specialist II- Accounts Recievable JobID: 14632 + Position Type: Specialist/Supervisor/Technician/ Specialist + Date Posted: 8/6/2025 + Location: ELSC + Date Available: ASAP    Accounting Specialist II – Accounts Receivable PRINCIPAL DUTIES: + Become proficient with the Finance software; review invoicing for appropriate account numbers and amounts. + Record monthly interest for District Investment Accounts. + Approve ACH payments in Banking system. + Make bank transfers between funds in Banking system. + Responsible for fiscal year-end procedures and understanding GAAP rules for accruals. + Record deposits for all fund received to the general ledger + Count/process the cash/check bags received from the school secretaries + Process the online general remittance forms submitted by school secretaries + Maintain district cash sheet and reconcile activity to the bank daily. + Perform month-end procedures to reconcile accounts to the bank and general ledger. + Backup invoicing desk and share procedures. + Record all payments received by the District into appropriate district accounts. + Assist in training new secretaries on cash handling and deposit procedures. + Attend bank meetings monthly to discuss issues that arise. + Perform banking duties like stop payments, ACHs, transfers etc. + Prepare and deposit the tax warrant receipt monthly. + Thoroughly understand Cash Handling Procedures; train others in the District. + Update and maintain Desk Procedures manual. + Adhere to Internal Controls in Accounting Department. + Proficiency Word, Excel, Google Sheets, Google Docs and Gmail. + Ability to work with limited supervision and display critical thinking skills. Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions. + Other duties as assigned. This position requires someone with critical thinking skills who is organized and detailed. They would be a decision maker, researching problems in the Accounting Department as well as other Departments. This person must possess strong communication skills both written and oral. They will communicate through email and phone calls with staff throughout the District. Education: 2-year Accounting/Business Degree preferred; Accounts Receivable Experience. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and governmental accounting principles preferred. Compensation: Hourly position, $26/Hr plus Employee Benefits. .
