Description Charlie Gilmur with Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Portland, Oregon. As part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting research and educational initiatives, this role involves managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance with accounting policies. Responsibilities: • Process and manage accounts payable and receivable transactions while ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. • Generate and submit accurate invoices to funding agencies within set deadlines. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll and financial accounts. • Audit purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Prepare and deposit funds into organizational bank accounts. • Maintain organized financial records, including journals, ledgers, receipts, and invoices. • Collaborate on month-end and year-end closing activities, as well as annual audits. • Verify and review orders to ensure proper invoicing procedures are followed. • Support the organization in delivering efficient and accurate financial reporting. Job Order: 03600-0013289457 Requirements • 2-4 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bookkeeping, or Accounting; nonprofit experience preferred. • Proficiency in accounting principles and familiarity with General Ledger processes. • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service and teamwork. • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines. • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities. • Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software. • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
