Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Portland, Oregon. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in non-profit accounting and proficiency in Abila MIP software. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial processing and support various accounting functions within the organization. Responsibilities: • Process accounts payable transactions, including posting invoices and managing payments. • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records. • Prepare and issue checks in a timely and organized manner. • Handle ad hoc accounting projects as assigned to support organizational needs. • Utilize Abila MIP software to maintain and update financial systems. • Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and streamline accounting processes. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. • Support billing functions and accounts receivable processes when necessary. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions. • Proficiency in Abila MIP software is required. • Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices. • Strong skills in account reconciliation and financial record management. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing. • Strong communication and teamwork abilities. • Previous experience with billing functions and financial reporting is a plus.
