Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves managing financial transactions, supporting billing processes, and ensuring accurate reconciliations. Candidates will collaborate closely with various teams to deliver efficient accounting services and provide outstanding customer support. Responsibilities: • Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. • Enter and manage data related to billing and accounting transactions. • Provide timely and attentive customer support for financial inquiries. • Collaborate with the real estate and business licensing teams to ensure smooth financial operations. • Analyze billing issues and implement effective solutions to address transaction discrepancies. • Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions. • Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial reporting, analysis, and data management. • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures during all accounting tasks. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). • Proficiency in performing account reconciliations with attention to detail. • Strong knowledge of billing functions and accounting principles. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage complex data sets. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities for handling billing discrepancies. • Effective communication skills to provide customer support and collaborate with teams. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
