Accounting Specialist
Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Albert Lea, Minnesota. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a growing manufacturing company by managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial operations and a proactive approach to optimizing workflows. Responsibilities: • Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and accuracy in all transactions. • Reconcile accounts payable balances and promptly address any discrepancies. • Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks and electronic transfers. • Collaborate with vendors to resolve invoice or payment-related concerns efficiently. • Generate and distribute customer invoices while ensuring timely billing. • Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and follow up to secure timely payments. • Reconcile accounts receivable and investigate any variances or discrepancies. • Record and process incoming payments through various payment methods into the accounting system. • Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations related to AP and AR. • Produce detailed financial reports and aging schedules, while identifying opportunities to improve financial processes. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for financial management tasks. • Strong knowledge of billing, invoice processing, and account reconciliation. • Demonstrated ability to handle vendor and customer invoices with accuracy and efficiency. • Experience in resolving invoice discrepancies and managing payment collections. • Familiarity with financial reporting and month-end close activities. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
