Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position that offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. Responsibilities: • Process and manage accounts payable operations, including entering invoices, monitoring oil usage, and handling approximately 100 invoices weekly. • Update and maintain accounts receivable records, including daily aging reports and regular communication with vendors for payment collection. • Prepare monthly billing allocations based on voyage percentages and ensure accurate reporting. • Conduct daily bank transactions and reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy. • Utilize Microsoft Excel for advanced data analysis, including creating pivot tables and performing VLOOKUP functions. • Collaborate with the team to maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities. • Assist in transitioning manual accounting processes to more efficient practices as needed. • Support the use of NetSuite software for accounting tasks, if applicable. • Work onsite Monday through Thursday, with remote work available on Fridays. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically with pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions. • Familiarity with financial reporting and bank reconciliation processes. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple entities. • Excellent communication skills for vendor correspondence and team collaboration. • Experience with NetSuite software is a plus but not required. • Ability to adapt to manual accounting processes and learn new systems as necessary. • Availability to work onsite Monday through Thursday, with remote work on Fridays.
