Accounting Specialist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist in Daytona Beach, Florida. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to financial operations and reporting processes while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting organizational goals. Responsibilities: • Contribute to strategic financial planning by providing accurate accounting data and implementing productivity and quality standards. • Monitor expenditures, identify variances, and suggest corrective actions to ensure financial targets are met. • Manage cash flow by tracking bank balances, scheduling payments, and investing surplus funds appropriately. • Verify and authorize cash disbursements, including checks and wire transfers, to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Audit transactions to approve ledger entries and maintain the integrity of financial records. • Assist with annual audits by preparing and presenting necessary documentation to auditors. • Process accounts receivable tasks, such as invoicing clients, tracking payments, and managing collections. • Handle accounts payable by verifying invoices, processing payments, and reconciling expenses. • Prepare payroll by coordinating timesheets, submitting data to third-party systems, and reconciling payroll activity. • Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, to support leadership and decision-making processes. Requirements • Proficiency in QuickBooks is required • GAAP • Solid understanding of core accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable. • Experience with auditing and financial reporting processes. • Ability to perform month-end close procedures effectively. • Strong skills in billing functions and maintaining accurate financial records. • Familiarity with payroll tracking, invoice processing, and reconciliation. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to internal controls.
