As a Senior Accounting Associate, you will be a member of the Finance Consulting (FC) team and will perform accounting tasks for RSM US clients. You will work alongside other accounting resources and report directly to a Supervisor in El Salvador.
As a Senior Accounting Associate, you will need to work with tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end client tax and audit projects, and the support of budget and forecast activities.
You will work collaboratively with US-based teams and have regular communications with all team members. This position expects to maintain excellent customer service satisfaction, excellent attention to detail, and a high proficiency in English. Responsibilities
Processes and records accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, payroll, and/or inventory transactions, as applicable, in an accurate and timely manner.
Prepares and reviews other’s work such as journal entries, accruals, and other adjustments required to close the month in an accurate and timely manner.
Manage and coach client services representatives, associates, and senior associates
Understands revenue, equity, COGS, expenses, intercompany, prepaid, and accruals and prepares analyses and supporting calculations of related adjustments.
Prepares and reviews bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations and resolves inconsistencies.
Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions.
Analyze complex financial reports and records and variance analysis
Review and approve journal entries of Accounting Associates to ensure accuracy.
Train team members in regard to accounting standards, financial controls, Month end close / Balance sheet reconciliations
Experience coaching Associates and accounting clerks.
Understands the structure of a general ledger chart of accounts.
Update client records and make suggestions for process improvements.
Navigates through ERP and/or financial systems for A/P, A/R, and GL functionalities.
Special accounting projects as assigned.
Participate in meetings with FC US team for client transitions.

Basic Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or similar careers
Strong technical financial accounting (GAAP) knowledge
Experience working with ERP accounting systems
Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office
Solid Excel skills (create tables, use formulas, pivot tables)
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must (proactively communicates status, issues, conflicts, and priorities up, down and across the engagement team)
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
Strong organizational skills along with the ability to meet deadlines
The ability to work efficiently and to multi-task
The ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
Assertive, collaborative, team player
Client-centric approach at all times
Fluent in Spanish and English (excellent written and verbal skills)
Preferred Qualifications
Prior work experience in similar areas; experience in a public accounting firm, consulting firm, or other professional services environment
Pursuing CPA/CA or a CPA/CA is desirable
Experience working in a paperless environment
