Description We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to lead and enhance the operations of our accounting department in Ashland, Virginia. This role requires an individual with strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional financial services. As an integral part of our team, you will oversee key accounting functions, manage client relationships, and drive process improvements to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and supervise a team of accounting specialists, fostering their development and ensuring high-quality performance.
• Manage client relationships by providing tailored financial advice and identifying opportunities to offer additional services.
• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accuracy.
• Implement streamlined processes to improve operational efficiency and maintain adherence to deadlines.
• Stay informed about updates in accounting standards and technologies, applying innovative solutions to enhance workflows.
• Handle technical accounting tasks, including reconciliations, audits, and financial reporting.
• Develop and manage budgets for client engagements, delivering clear financial insights to stakeholders.
• Support recruitment efforts and contribute to the successful onboarding of new team members.
• Represent the firm at industry events and organizations to build its reputation and network.
• Drive initiatives to ensure team and organizational growth, aligning with strategic goals. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Corporate and individual tax returns
• Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks and Lacerte Tax Software.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate financial statements and manage tax preparation processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
• Proven leadership capabilities, including mentoring and guiding teams toward success.
• Required certifications such as CPA or Enrolled Agent
