Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Monrovia, California. In this role, you will oversee key financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance while contributing to strategic decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail to work in a dynamic environment and support critical operational functions. Responsibilities: • Lead and manage cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, standard cost roll-ups, and variance analysis for manufacturing or lab operations. • Prepare comprehensive financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including variance analysis and performance metrics for senior management. • Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accurate recording of accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations related to operational expenses. • Provide financial data and schedules to support audit requirements and public company compliance. • Manage equity compensation reporting and forecasting, including modeling expenses for RSUs, stock options, and other plans. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as R& D and Operations, to develop and maintain financial models and forecasts. • Utilize business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Adaptive Insights to analyze trends and deliver actionable insights. • Assist in creating the annual operating plan, long-term forecasts, and reforecast cycles to align with organizational goals. • Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, processes, and controls to support the growth of the organization. Requirements • Proven experience in cost accounting, with expertise in inventory valuation and variance analysis. • Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliation. • Familiarity with public company reporting requirements and audit processes. • Experience in equity compensation reporting and forecasting, including RSUs and stock options. • Proficiency in financial modeling and using business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau. • Solid understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, particularly in life sciences or biotech industries. • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
