Jamie Benway with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee key financial operations and ensure the accuracy of financial records. This role involves managing month-end close processes, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting financial audits. Based in Portland, Oregon, this is an excellent opportunity to bring your expertise to a non-profit organization.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage month-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and review financial statements to support internal and external reporting requirements.
• Coordinate and provide support for financial statement audits, addressing auditor inquiries and ensuring smooth processes.
• Perform account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Implement and monitor accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Supervise and mentor accounting team members, fostering their growth and development.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
• Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices, applying them as necessary.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting management or supervision, particularly in month-end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and account reconciliation.
• Familiarity with financial statement preparation and audit processes.
• Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Effective leadership and communication skills to manage a team and collaborate across departments.
