Your New Role…
Join the WBITVP Nederland-Group as a key finance partner, helping with all aspects of controllership. You’ll work closely with local management, production accountants and wider production teams to ensure financial reporting and compliance. Your duties will span balance sheet reconciliations, local controls, management/ statutory accounts, audits and tax coordination. This role reports to the Central European Hub Controller and works closely with the WBITVP Nederland Finance Manager.
Your Role Accountabilities…
Manage the period-end close process, coordinating with production accountants and external service providers.
Oversee month-end tasks including intercompany recharges, production accruals and real estate cost centre reconciliations.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, providing insights on key movements to senior stakeholders.
Ensure accurate accounting and tax treatment for provisions, accruals, bonuses, stock options, leases, and fixed assets.
Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
Monitor the performance of outsourced accounting services (SDC), including AR/AP and cash clearing, and manage intercompany reconciliations and settlements.
Coordinate with service providers for direct and indirect tax filings and ensure regulatory compliance.
Provide local reporting inputs for WBD's quarterly and regulatory disclosures and guide corporate finance needs.
Involvement with finance system upgrades and deployments (e.g. SAP S/4HANA, e-invoicing), ensuring alignment with both US GAAP and relevant local GAAP.
Own local SAP processes including production interfaces, data integrity, and master data maintenance.
Qualifications & Experience…
Recognised accounting qualification required.
Fluent in Dutch and strong command of English, both written and spoken.
Prior experience managing an audit process is essential.
Advanced Excel skills required. Mid-level for all other Microsoft applications required
Experience in the following finance accounting areas:
Dutch GAAP (required), US GAAP (advantageous)
Statutory financial statement preparation and Dutch regulatory reporting
Direct and indirect tax compliance
Strong interpretive, judgment, and problem-solving abilities
Proactive, detail-oriented, exceptional organisational skills
Must be self-motivated and able to work under a deadline and handle multiple tasks
Self-starter as well as a team player with strong relationship management skills
Experience working with outsourced partners and in multinational matrix organisations preferred.
Industry experience in production, media, or a similarly client-based sector is desirable.
Familiarity with enterprise systems (Just Produce/Navision and SAP preferred).
Background in a professional accounting firm is advantageous.
