About the Role

Are you a strategic and hands-on accounting leader ready to make a meaningful impact in the nonprofit healthcare space? We’re seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to lead a high-performing team and drive financial excellence for a mission-driven organization in Mt. Vernon, NY.

This is a fully onsite role offering the opportunity to work closely with the CFO and leadership, contributing directly to the financial health and operational success of the organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of 6 direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Oversee all aspects of general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit preparation.Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal/state regulations, and industry-specific standards.Partner with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.Implement and optimize accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.Must-Have QualificationsMBA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record of leadership.Demonstrated success in managing accounting teams and driving operational improvements.Industry experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or nursing home environments.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, and reporting tools.Ideal Candidate TraitsMission-driven with a passion for serving communities through healthcare and nonprofit work.Detail-oriented and analytical, with excellent problem-solving skills.Strong communicator who can translate complex financial data into actionable insights.Adaptable and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.10 - $72.12/hr.
