Job Description:

Location: Golden, Colorado

CoWorx is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager, to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, accuracy of accounting records, cost accounting analysis, application of information technology, conformance with financial controls, ensuring that reported results comply with accounting principles and standards, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Accounting Manager responsibilities will also include financial risk management.

This position is expected to be for 3 months, but has the potential to become a permanent position with our client. The schedule would be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with flexible start times. Compensation starts between $45.00 to $60.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

Managing all finance and accounting operations
Coordinating and directing the preparation and closing month end and year-end financial statements for independent audit or review
Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and report variances
Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
Manage, mentor, and train employees.
Manage all accounting operations including: billing, A/R, A/P, GL and bank reconciliation, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
Expert in percentage of completion revenue recognition
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Support month-end and year-end close process
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Desired Background/Skills:

8+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience in a related field and/or public accounting environment, at least a 4yr degree and manufacturing experience would be great too!
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or CMA is a plus but not required
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience with creating and closing financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
Broad-based accounting operations experience in general and cost accounting, financial analysis, fixed asset accounting, receivables, payables, tax, audit, and legal compliance functions.
High level of financial acumen and business operations understanding required
Collaborative and analytical thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills
