Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and lead the financial operations of our organization in Petersburg, Virginia. In this role, you will play a key part in managing payroll, benefits administration, and select human resources functions while ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take charge of the accounting department and drive operational efficiency. Responsibilities: • Supervise payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for employees. • Oversee benefits administration, including enrollment and compliance with policies. • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, collaborating with HR as needed. • Perform month-end closing procedures and ensure the accuracy of financial records. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring proper documentation and compliance. • Prepare and review journal entries to support accurate financial reporting. • Conduct financial statement audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors. • Handle banking transactions and ensure proper posting to accounts. • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering collaboration and efficiency. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles. • Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Strong knowledge of account reconciliation and journal entries. • Experience in conducting financial statement audits. • Familiarity with payroll systems and benefits administration. • Ability to manage HR processes, including onboarding and offboarding. • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong leadership and communication abilities to manage a team effectively.
