Accounting Manager

Our client, a forward-thinking Public Utilities organization in Yulee, FL, is looking for a strategic and inspiring Accounting Manager to lead financial operations across multiple departments and locations. What You’ll Do: + Lead a diverse range of accounting functions with precision and insight. + Collaborate across departments and locations to streamline financial processes. + Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team — from recruitment to performance management. + Ensure SOX compliance and uphold strong internal controls. + Deliver powerful financial and statistical analysis to support executive decision-making. + Partner with Tax and Financial Analysis teams to stay ahead of regulatory and market changes. + Work closely with senior leadership including the Director of Finance and Controller to align financial strategy with organizational goals. + Champion the use of ERP systems and Excel to optimize reporting and analysis. Requirements What You Bring: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); CPA (preferred). + Proven leadership experience in accounting, ideally within multi-location environments. + Strong command of accounting software/ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. + Deep understanding of SOX compliance and financial analysis. + Experience in the utilities sector is a major plus. + Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. + Flexibility to travel within Florida (rare out-of-state travel).
