Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and oversee key financial processes at our client's office in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, a proactive management style, and the ability to optimize departmental operations. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the company’s financial operations. Responsibilities: • Supervise and manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including oversight of team two members. • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded. • Prepare and present financial reports and budgets to the company president, providing insights and recommendations. • Oversee tax preparation and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and deadlines. • Reconcile accounts and maintain the integrity of the general ledger. • Post and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting department. • Utilize QuickBooks and Appfolio systems to manage accounting and property management operations effectively. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role. • Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation. • Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and budgets. • Familiarity with tax preparation and financial audits. • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and property management software such as Appfolio. • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. • Ability to lead a team and foster a collaborative work environment.
