Job Description
The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including market and product analysis, tariff forecasting, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This role involves guiding internal processes such as inventory management, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, managing banking relationships, and continually reviewing company insurance. The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in logistics and product analysis, strategic planning, and department management, analyzing financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and financial stability while managing a team of 2-3 AP and AR specialists.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Manage general ledger, accounts payable, receivables, payroll, human resources, and purchasing.Monitor cash flow and forecast financial trends.Maintain accurate inventory records, reconcile discrepancies, and collaborate with operations to ensure proper inventory valuation and controls.Analyze inventory turnover and suggest improvements.Ensure banking relations and continued review of company insurance.Review and approve customer pricing structures, analyze cost components, and margin proposals to ensure alignment with company profitability targets and strategic objectives.Develop and manage annual budgets, track performance against the budget, and provide variance analysis.Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and improved financial stability, and present actionable recommendations to ownership.Work closely with ownership and department heads to support business decisions.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, maintain internal controls, and safeguard company assets.Coordinate with external accountants for tax preparation and audits.Provide financial training and guidance to non-financial staff as needed.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance.10+ years of accounting experience.3+ years of managerial and supervisory experience.Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, with the ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and reports with precision.2+ years of import and export experience, particularly in import and wholesale distribution with inventory experience.Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with tools like Apprise / Aptean, and/or other financial systems is advantageous.Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.Strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Experience in distribution or manufacturing is highly favored.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
