Job Title: Accounting Manager
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Accounting Manager to join our team in a remote capacity. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in financial reporting and analysis, ensuring the integrity and compliance of accounting operations, while providing leadership to the accounting team.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare internal reports for management, offering insights on performance and financial status.Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to highlight trends, variances, and potential financial issues.Ensure the integrity of the general ledger by accurately recording all transactions.Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.Assist in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.Oversee the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.Perform regular internal audits and ensure proper documentation for financial transactions.Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other relevant filings.Review tax provisions to ensure accurate reporting in financial statements.Coordinate and manage the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings.Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the organization’s tax strategy.Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.Provide variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual results and budgeted figures.Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team to ensure high performance, efficiency, and accuracy.Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide training, and foster an environment of continuous improvement.Develop staffing plans and allocate resources to meet departmental goals.Work closely with the Controller to ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.Lead or participate in system upgrades, process automation, and other projects to streamline workflows and reduce manual efforts.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.Experience with accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliation, month-end, and journal entry processes.Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.Additional Skills & QualificationsCPA certification is preferred.Experience in the engineering or construction industry, whether from public accounting or corporate.Experience with Unanet software is preferred.Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), budgeting, and tax regulations.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
