Accounting Manager
Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join a high performing team for a fantastic client in the Northland. In this supervisory role, you will oversee a team, manage department operations, maintain financial accuracy, and contribute to the growth and success of our organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: + Supervise and lead a team, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations. + Implement and monitor efficient accounting procedures and workflows, ensuring accuracy and meeting financial reporting deadlines. + Review client financial statements for accuracy, budget variances, and other key metrics. + Collaborate with internal stakeholders to troubleshoot accounting or reporting issues and adapt to client needs. + Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely submission of audit and review reports. + Work on special projects, including financial analyses, budgeting, and year-end audits. + Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors to ensure seamless system integrations. Supervisory Duties: + Onboard, mentor, and develop team members while driving best practices. + Conduct annual performance reviews and establish departmental goals and objectives. + Evaluate and ensure the quality of accounting work performed by team members. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting . + 2-5 years of supervisory experience in accounting. + Experience in association management is highly desirable. + Strong understanding of GL, balance sheets, income statements, and journal entries. + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. + Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills. + Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial data to key stakeholders.
