The Role:
This is an exciting time to join Ziff Davis. We are looking for a Europe Finance Manager to join
our accounting team on a FTC (maternity cover for 1 year), normally based in Dublin, working
remotely at present.
This roles main focus is to lead and motivate the GL team during the month end and ensuring
that all the scheduled activities are completed on time and accurately. The successful candidate
will work closely with the International Shared Services Director, based in Ireland and the Global
Controller, based in the US.
The team are responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts, which
includes the reconciliation of balance sheet and sub-ledger accounts e.g. AP, AR , Fixed Assets
and Cash Management and supporting the year-end audit to a very high standard.
In addition to the management of the month end process it is expected that the successful
candidate would take on various projects for process improvement and automation as part of their
role.
This role will expose the candidate to both US and local GAAP of various countries, both by
managing the team and also with the entities assigned to the candidate. This position will require
the candidate to work and communicate with colleagues in various other countries.

Key Responsibilities:
Managing the month end close process from working day 1 to close, leading the daily
meetings with AP, AR & the GL team against the month end timetable.
Ensure proper & timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in
accordance with GAAP policies, procedures and internal control standards including the
Europe ASC 842 reconciliation.
Responsible for month end close of assigned subsidiaries of Ziff Davis to strict deadlines
Ensuring that the EU team record revenue recognition including deferred revenue
accurately and in a timely manner.
Monthly review of the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts in a timely manner and
ensuring that the team are following up on any queries
When required to prepare journal entries in multiple currencies.
Review VAT journals as part of the group VAT returns, as required. To ensure that the
team are providing VAT information and reconciling VAT for their entities and that they
are posting the clearing journals, as required.
Key player / leader in the year end audit for all the Europe entities
Support the project teams with the various tasks as required for process improvement
and change.
Work on cleaning, as required, sub-ledger entries and reconciliations of any legacy
systems.
Work closely with the GL Accountants on TSA activities (Transfer Service Agreements)
as required.
Provide accounting support for management in financial analysis, budgeting and other
reporting.
Ensuring that the team’s goals and responsibilities are clearly defined and regular
feedback and reviews completed as per the company processes.
Key Requirements and Experience:
A fully qualified accountant with technical knowledge (US GAAP, IFRS & Local GAAP,
ASC 842 & ASC 606) and experience reporting under US GAAP would be advantageous,
with +5-6 years’ experience.
Previous management experience essential (+2-3 years), this role will have between 3-6
direct reports, ability to motivate and develop both direct and indirect reports within the
Europe and US Accounting Teams.
Excellent communication skills and good understanding of what and when to escalate an
issue.
Ability to provide technical support to the team and group in accounting matters
A team player and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
Good business acumen and an ability to work across boundaries and cultures.
Strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal are essential for this
position.
Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar accounting system would be advantageous
Experience in the preparation of year end statutory accounts
Previous exposure to month-end closing
Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines, within a fast moving environment
Strong excel skills
